The Belief Code is a beautiful gift from God (Higher Power, Supreme Energy, etc.). It had its inception when the founder of the Emotion and Body Code work, Dr. Bradley Nelson was a little puzzled by some of his clients that always had the same imbalances or misalignments and never seemed to get better in one area of health or another. At one point during one such session, he was reminded that the subconscious really operates like a giant supercomputer in binary form, and it occurred to him that there seemed to be a pattern, or a program that was driving these individuals to continually have these negative imbalances. By chance, Dr. Nelson asked his client's subconscious just that, "Is there a program that is making you do this?", and the answer was, “Yes”!
Our subconscious deals only in absolutes. Sometimes the subconscious can form false or faulty conclusions that make untrue statements in the real world true for that individual. An easy example to understand is a person suffering from an eating disorder that sees themselves as a fat person in the mirror, even if they are morbidly underweight. Are they truly overweight or fat? Absolutely not, but their subconscious believes that they are. The subconscious has formed a faulty truth, and so the self-abuse continues. How about a person that can never seem to break away from a negative cycle of abuse in relationships, even if it's with separate partners? How about the workaholic, New Year's resolutions that are always broken, or someone who just feels stuck in any project? We all have "stuff" that are negative patterns in our lives! The Belief Code System was created to completely uproot these negative belief systems, so that they are no longer a part of your "hard drive".
Your belief systems are uniquely your own. There are over 1,800 negative statements that I use to find your unique system under seven major categories: Divine, Insight, Communication, Love, Power, Passion, and Survival. These categories are linked to the seven Chakras (crown to root), have a gland, muscle, and system connection within your body (circulatory, nervous, etc.), and are also connected to Maslow's Hierarchy (google it... it's pretty cool). There are four steps to every Belief Code session:
In order to explain Belief Systems, I find it helpful to use visual imagery. A Basic Belief System, which is the most common can be compared to a tree. There are branches, the main trunk, the main roots, the soil the seed was planted into, and the leaves and fine roots, which bring nourishment and energy to the rest of the tree. Our negative self-talk, the automatic negative things we tell ourselves, are the Negative Programs. These are the branches of the belief system. Most belief systems have 2-4 negative programs. If we go deeper into the subconscious we will find the trunk of the tree, the Limiting Beliefs. Most belief systems will have 1-3 limiting beliefs. If we go even deeper into our subconscious, we will find the Faulty Core Belief which corollate to the main roots of the tree. Sometimes (not always) the “seed” of the tree was planted into bad or negative soil. This is called the Faulty Core Identity. The leaves and small roots of the tree are the associated imbalances, typically 5-10 of these. Many of the associated imbalances are trapped emotions, but they can be any type of trapped energy or misalignment found in the Body Code. These imbalances essentially feed the negative energy of the belief system. Every part of the Belief Code “tree” needs to be removed in order for the entire belief system to be removed. If I just take away the Negative Programs and Limiting Beliefs, but leave the Faulty Core Belief, the entire belief system has the potential to grow back.
When reading your notes from a belief code session it can be helpful to look at each negative statement starting with the Faulty Core Identity and go “up” the tree towards the Negative Programs while asking “Why”. For example, you might have a limiting belief of “I am not normal”. If we ask why “I am not normal”, we can make a correlation to the Negative Program statement of “There is nothing that can be done about my illness”. Sometimes, the correlation isn’t obvious, and that’s okay too. However, most of the time asking “why” will give you some sense of the hierarchy of the belief system.
Most belief systems are created by us. However, there are times when I find individual negative statements or sometimes a whole belief system that have been either suggested to you by a trusted individual in your past or has been inherited to you by your mother or father. Inherited beliefs, just like inherited trapped emotions, can go back many generations.
There are four other types of Belief Systems:
